April Showers

Man, it's April already!I can't believe time is flying by so fast. Well, a few updates..... we have had another fantastic month full of adventures. Mom made a visit for the end of March, just in time for Papa's birthday and General Conference. We had tons of fun and I loved that she came over and made cookies with me at our apartment. She even tolerated Flubber to be in the same room wth her.....which really surprised me. :) We had a mondo birthday party at Rosie's for Papa and mom managed to confront her fears and pick out a lovely headstone for Dad's grave.....so big steps all around for her.
Easter came by so quickly, I barely noticed. We went to dinner at Rosie's and I worked hard to make deviled eggs that looked like chicks popping out of there eggs!! Tyler's basket was mostly good foods for him to take to work. Mine was the same....lol. Oh, how we love our dollar store for holidays.....
I've been ranking up the hours at work and find myself away from home more and more.Tyler is also hard at work. We did find time the other night to go have some fun in the pouring rain at the Gateway mall.....and check out the City Creek mall....so we could try out The Cheesecake Factory.
  So things are good here.

Oh March.....back again so soon?

Hey Lovelies -

Ok update time...... Why? Because it's March... my favorite month!
Activities up until now.......I started babysitting Carrie's children.....making some extra money weekly, just to help with the bills. :) They kicked me up to four days a week now and by April it will be five days a week. Tyler is doing great at work too. In between we try as many fun and exciting things as we can. So Since the beginning of March.....we have Gone to a Jazz game.....Jazz won. We also went to a Young Dubliners concert. We had a good time and we are hoping to do something fun like that again very soon.
Time to reflect... Dad's birthday is coming up..... I encourage all of my family and close friends to remember my dad on his birthday..... :-)
Papa's birthday is also coming up at the end of the month and from what I can hear............everyone in my side of the family is coming to SLC for it. It will be nice to see my mom again.

What have we been doing lately?

Hey fabulous friends and family......

I can't believe how fast February has gone! Let's update everyone on what has been going on in the Rogalsky Household.

February blew in.....literally. Seems like if it's not snowing, it's windy.....talk about a late winter.
I started a wonderful new job and I totally love it. I was kind of concerned because I was working only one night a week, but the Lord has yet again blessed us, because not only did my boss call this week to inform me I was to start working 3-4 days a week .....I am to start babysitting my wonderful cousin in laws children! Busy, Busy! So I am glad to be doing something productive again!
Tyler and I have been trying to do as many fun and inexpensive things as possible together between hectic work schedules. We love to go shopping together....even if its window shopping only.
Tyler Found a buddy from home at Wal-mart
Tyler got me some AWESOME V-day gifts!
We had a wonderful Valentine's day together. I spent days preparing. It was wonderful.

heart of love
I WOOF you!
Flubber even got a heart shaped toy that he loved so much he carried it around all day.

We went to a Monster Truck show here in town as well and had a good time dressing the part and cheering on the cool looking trucks.
Big trucks!
We love Monster Jam!

Tyler's big fix-it project for the month was buying us a new toilet seat....in which he got us a padded toilet seat.....Lowe's has really taught him well. He installed it himself... and it stands as a proud reminder of his handy skills.

We had the pleasure of seeing his family when they came for a visit this month. His parents stayed at our place one night and at Joe's house the other 2 nights. Mike even came down and we had a family dinner at Joe's. I got the privilage to go the Salt Lake City Temple for the first time with Tyler and his parents. I loved it and I think it has quickly become one of my favorite temples.
We also won a contest from our local news station and we got a free getaway package to none other than........Bear Lake! HA. So one of these days we might take that trip. :) Things are good. We are happy, healthy, and busier than ever. Here's to a Marvelous March!

Fantastic Feb already

Well another month......
We've have a few things go on.... not terribly much yet though.
I got  job working as a direct night time shift mentor....for a youth rehabilitation transition house..... it's pretty cool... I like it! Tyler is still liking his job at Lowes. Flubber is still playing around and being our doggie. We are happy and busy. We spent Tyler's day off exploring the Salt Lake City Cemetery the other day. We had a blast. We also recently visited the Pioneer museum and explored around Capitol Hill a bit. It's fun to see how historically rich this place really is. I'm learning to cook more often and getting into more complex meals. So that is how we are doing. Here are some pictures for you. Enjoy!

Happy New Years Eve!

In the spirit of making new resolutions and trying new things, I am going to try to maintain a better upkeep of this blog......I have been slacking off too much and I need to get back in my writing groove. Well, things are good in our home. Flubber is still flubber.....we gave him his own stocking full of new chew toys this Christmas. Tyler had an awesome Christmas and got lots of new shirts, jackets, and an electric shaver. I got my favorite movies - "Polly" and "Lilo and Stitch" and an antique trunk which I LOVE. His family got together on their way down to Vegas for the MAACO bowl - Broncos won again - finishing out the season strong. We were happy to spend the time with his family while they were in town. Then Mom came up for Christmas and we hung out a lot with my fam. We had a good Christmas, and I can't believe 2011 is up tomorrow night. We, of course, are choosing to spend it at home, away from the drunken people. (if there is any up here in Utah.) Tyler secured a new job at Lowes - and he starts on the 2nd of January. I am still looking. Anyways, I have several pictures of the Christmas season....... enjoy!

Happy New year! Let's make 2012 even better!

another month....another crazy adventure

Dear friends,

Ah, how the days have floated on by in the enjoyment of marital joy and ignorant bliss. Our Thanksgiving was lovely, bringing us closer in touch with my side of the family, as we joined the Glines family for Turkey day! All the food was delish and we enjoyed all the fun games the girls came up with.

A few days later we were happy to have my mom come into town, along with Cynthia and Lynn and Papa! Papa was in good spirits and enjoyed the Annual Tidwell Christmas get-together that always takes place this time of year. My mom, despite the invasion of nasty little scorpions at home in Las Vegas, is looking fabulous as usual, and we enjoyed her presence for the next week. We enjoyed watching our little Jacob Adair grow another year older and wiser...... and the blessing of him being baptised! 8 is a great year to be.

My mom, being awesome brought us our first Christmas tree, and decorations. I suppose a recording of a fireplace and two, sadly, very skinny stockings will have to do this year, since I still have no such luck in finding a job and money is tight. I think the most festive thing we have chosen to do is watch endless Christmas movies and cartoons, in hopes that these will be the foundation of a good Christmas.
Among many activities we have done in the past little while, here are a few highlights:

-We gave Flubber his first bath as a married couple.......my first time helping bathe a dog..... (He's a charismatic little doggie, isn't he? I could imagine a "but, I don't wanna go to bed now...." comment coming from him)
-We have been doing some babysitting for Tyler's brother Joe, who lives with his family of four close by.(Looks like I took a nap at some point, as my hubby snuck this pic of me)

-I seem to take any opportunity to try and get a decent picture of Tyler and me - but still end up cutting off his head some how (curses, you camera phone)
- We did take a trip to Bear Lake with Lynn and managed to drive a run down soft top Jeep back to North Salt Lake. The water line is much higher from the last time we visited summer 2011.
Tyler is up to his usual antics. He still makes me giggle to death with his jokes and warms my heart with his smile. He never fails to make me happy. Any chance he can, he goofs off until I'm rolling on the floor laughing so hard, I'm crying! I know even if all I get this year for Christmas is a hug from him, I will be happy. Money may help make things easier, but I am quickly learning that love and unity in times of struggle, make us stronger, and truly happy.

As for me, I have been applying for jobs and doing interviews like crazy......but with no hires yet. Kind of frustrating. Doesn't seem to matter if I drop off an application and resume or do online apps, nothing ever seems to follow through. I'm trying hard though. Making the best of each one. Here's a less than happy me after a job interview that literally lasted less than a minute....(Tyler timed it cuz he drove me there and waited for me)At least I tried to look professional and pretty.(Yes MOM, I do have lipstick on.....)

It's funny to think about, but one of the Glines girls raised the THIS to me...... maybe if I believed in Santa, I would get at least one thing I really wanted for Christmas. This I have been thinking about more and more as I crazily apply for jobs and every day I become more frustrated and crazy about not having a job and pitching in to support my new little family. So I only have one wish on my list this year..... I would like a job, any job, so the stress of hard times would not be weighing so heavily on my family.

I can't believe it is December again, as I just blinked and the year is gone. I've learned a lot this year...... and gained a lot too. It's been the best year, and a year to figure out, not only myself, but Tyler too. I can honestly say, 2011 - thanks.....my year has been fulfilling.

Wherever you are this year..... Happy Holidays - and stay safe!

Almost Thanksgiving

So another week has gone by. This weekend, we went bowling for date night. On Saturday, we went to Joe and Missy's house for Joe's birthday celebrating and to watch the BSU game. Of course we won, and we enjoyed fondue! Sunday was good. We went to church and enjoyed the last of the weekend. We are good on this end.....sad to see the weekend go, but anxious to get this week gone.... since then it's almost Christmas time. :)
Happy Thanksgiving week everyone!
